Meet your future self through subconscious techniques, with the goal of making your New Years goal more achievable and meaningful. Hypno-audio recording provided in this article.
Until recently, while making New Year's Resolutions, I only engaged my conscious mind. And with much willpower, I have been somewhat successful. However, when I decided to use both my conscious and subconscious mind, I achieved the results I aimed for.
If you want to achieve your 2026 goals, keep reading. I will walk you through how to 'prime' your conscious mind, getting very clear on what it is you would like to achieve.
The next step is to engage your subconscious mind through future pacing and visualization; techniques used in hypnotherapy. You will get the opportunity to receive advice from your successful future self.
Think of your 2026 goals as seeds planted in fertile soil. The seeds are your goals. Please be clear as to what you are planting. Set your intentions and be aware of how amazing the product will be once it has developed.
It is the subconscious where the real magic happens. Your subconscious mind is like the soil beneath the surface. It is rich, responsive, and deeply loyal. Whatever is planted there is taken in without judgement.
Please be aware that encouraging words are welcomed just as readily as critical ones. Even hope and fear are treated the same. All is welcome. The soil does not discriminate; it simply grows what it receives.
To nurture your goals, make positive suggestions about what you want to see or are already experiencing.
New Year's Goal ◌ Let's Get Planning
Let's begin. You will need paper, a writing utensil or a computer to write what your goal is that you plan to achieve in 2026. We are going to use both parts of our mind to help us. In the first part, you will clarify what you want to achieve. In the second part, you will relax and listen to an audio recording to visualize your future self and receive ideas on how you achieved your goal.
PART 1
New Year's Goal Setting → Conscious Mind
New Year's Goal: Start off by asking yourself what it is that you would like to accomplish in 2026. Perhaps you want a new job, or be in a healthy loving relationship, or you want to quit an unhelpful habit such as smoking.
Examples:
I would like to let go of smoking forever (it is better to avoid using the word 'stop in your goals).
I would like to be in a loving, respectful romantic relationship with a _____ and ..... (stated positively).
Feeling: Imagine what it will feel like when you achieve this goal. What will you say to yourself? Perhaps you visualize all the opportunities you now have in life. If you feel wonderful or excited, where does this live in your body?
Rating: Out of 10, with 10 being the highest rating, what number of importance would you give this goal? Out of 10, how much 'joy, happiness, etc.' do you want to experience once you have achieved this goal?
PART 2
Visualization to Grow Your Plan → Subconscious Mind
hypno-recording embedded in image below
Find a quiet, uninterrupted and relaxing space to listen to the audio recording provided.
Allow yourself to listen with curiosity and let whatever comes forward without judgment or wondering 'if this is working'.
After you have met your future self, the audio recording (22:32 minutes) provides you with another visualization to offer suggestions to support you.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I suggest completing part 1 prior to listening to the visualization.
Please do not listen to this audio recording while working with heavy machinery or driving.
I encourage you to read the section below The Language & Messaging of the Subconscious Mind to get a better idea how the subconscious works.
Use this audio recording anytime you have a question or want to achieve a goal and are unsure of how to achieve it.
Language & Messaging of the Subconscious Mind
The subconscious mind does not speak in words or logic. It speaks in feelings, images, and patterns. You can hear it through your dreams, gut feelings (knowing's), body sensations, and those thoughts that seem to repeat on their own. It shows up in habits you don’t think about and reactions that happen before you can explain them.
This part of your mind is always working quietly in the background, making sense of your experiences. When something needs your attention, such as an old belief, or an unresolved feeling, a desire, or even a warning, it will send a signal through emotion or intuition rather than reason.
Pat Barker is the founder of Mother Tree, coaching & hypnotherapy. She believes that empowered women and mother roots (generations), are similar to the thriving nature of trees in a forest. Once we connect with ourselves, understanding what is going on below the surface, we can heal ourselves. The Mother Tree in a forest is "an elder tree that helps forests recover from events like fire or logging, by transmitting information through below-ground root and fungal networks." (S Simard)
